【The difficulty of Champion】

         “I’m so confused”

He won the title of champion, which had been his goal all his life. He got wealth and fame and what he wanted to. He acquired everything that people envy, and yet he feels as if he has a big empty spot in his heart.

In childhood

He was born in March and was smaller and cuter than anyone his age. Because he looked so young, people around him always cheered him on more than others. And ever since he was a child, he had always practiced by looking up to someone else. One of his respectful example was Jack. Sometimes they are rivals, sometimes they support each other, and sometimes they respect each other. Jack always gives him the watchword "Be strong, be energetic, and do your best” when he steps onto the field just before the start of a game, when he is unsure of himself.

One day Jack started to stand out, even though he had thought he was on a level playing field as Jack, and began to grow impatient. He made up his mind to go to the field, and even though it was only 6:00 a.m. before practice, he found that Jack was running silently by himself. Jack showed up on the field every day, fighting with himself and trying to overcome. He realized his lack of practice, his lack of effort, his immaturity. Jack was indispensable to him as they stimulated each other in this way.

Now that he is a champion

He has established himself, gained prestige, and has lots of money.

There are well-equipped practice environments and plenty of time to practice.

There are people who devote a lot of time to his performance.

There are many people who cheer for him.

There is no one who does not know his name.

Lots of kids are looking up to him.

Lots of kids are chasing him, kicking off and competing frantically.

His surroundings seem to glow white.

However he is suffering from loneliness.

There is no one who is always there for him like in the past.

There is no one who will exhort him before a game, saying, "Be strong, be energetic, and do your best.

There is no one next to him to give him a hand, even if he stumbles over something,

He has lost sight of what he should be aiming for.

It is not the rival or Jack that he should be fighting, but himself yesterday, himself today, himself now.

There was a time of solitude, a space of solitude: a time to face himself, a space to face himself.

The pain of having to keep winning, the fear of losing.

Even though his world may appear to be a bright and shining place, behind the scenes there are countless efforts, frustrations, and a lot of suffering.

“Why can't I do so much by myself?”
